Hello I have a question,
regarding the my laptop, I bought it from HP, ni install disc at all
only recovery portion on the hard drive.
Last week I had a virus and couldn't get to recovery so
I had to install my XP.
Because I have no CD,it is possible to download Vista Home from the website
as the trial and use the Licence code which is on the label beneath of the laptop??Would it work?

Why bother with Vista? Go Windows 7 RC and enjoy a much better OS.

Because I have serial just for OEM Vista,which has been pre-installed
before on my laptop.

I would have to say the best you can do is try it.

I would call hp and demand they give me a restore disk. They've had several class action lawsuits against them for this, You'd think they would learn?

They [hp] will likely provide you with a way to download a disk and use that instead from their support website.

Most times, They include a 2nd partition on the harddrive and you have to burn your own disk for this sort of operation.... I'd still bug HP tho for a new disk or a way to download one.

Otherwise, I'd go with windows 7 RC I know that is not what you want to hear, But if contacting HP fails, and downloading an vista iso from microsoft fails. Then this may be your best bet.
