I need some advice. I have a desktop with Vista Home Premium 32bit. I have no CDs. I want to wipe it clean and start with just the OS. I have the product key sticker on the side of the PC. In your opinion, what is a good and legit way to obtain the OS, less actually buying an OS on cd from somewhere.

I want to do this for experience. I am a student studying computers and networks. This process would simulate a corrupted OS that would need to be replaced. I would also backup the data and reload it as well as apps.

Thank you for your input. I saw the same thing and thought it would be safe but wanted an opinion I can trust. I trust your opinion. I just get nervous on downloads of OS. Heard too many stories. Thanks again for your help.

They're official install downloads from Microsoft so no need to worry.
