what do you guys think of what youve heard so far? do you guys think it will be very different from XP? share your opinions.
 
Yes, but why not make another one, it has been a while since we have talked about it here, and everyone probabally has fresh ideas about it.

I will start with my views and comments on Vista.

First off, I like the look of it. Microsoft always seems to be able to make a program/os that can use a 128mb video card to its full capacity. :P The 3D interface is very nice.



Also, I like how the top of explorer windows are clear. Always looking at that desktop. :)



Microsoft is saying they are re-building this OS, and not just adding on to XP, so that could be a good thing, or a bad thing. Who knows with Microsoft.

I really look forward to the release of Vista. I will not be one of the first people to run to the store and pay (estimate) $300 for some unstable operating system. I will wait a year or two for Microsoft (microcrap) to fix some major bugs and such, and maby come out with a service pack for Vista before I buy it.

I also want to see what they do to Internet Explorer with the release of IE 7.0. Copiers (tabbed browsing) :(

If everyone has fresh ideas that will add to a pre-existing thread, why not resurrect that thread?

Just keep XP and get one of the many many Vista skins out there..

I use the one from www.crystalxp.net (It might be In french, theres an option to change the language)

Looks really good, and the object dock works well.

and if he resurrected the thread ppl would say "don't bring back old threads":P
its a lose lose situation... i know what that is like

Encore4More, the problem is when people bring back old threads and their post does not add to the conversation.. then people get upset. I decided to let this thread go last week.. there is no need to bring this back up.

hmm... i have brought back old threads and added to the conversation with my post and i was still told to not resurrect old threads... if you wish i shall find some of these threads i have resurected?

Well I guess this is the best of threads to ask this....

Whats with the start bar in vista? I have seen it with the words start, and I have seen it with just the windows symbol. Which is the correct one?

the one with the words is from the previous beta versions, the one with the windows symbol is correct... i think it is hotter
