Vista's ReadyBoost - what flash drives work with this?

I tried the Vista ReadyBoost option when I plugged in my PNY thumbdrive (USB 2.0) and it said it does not have the required performance. So, what IS the required performance?

I also tried it with my 120 GB WesternDigital Passport USB drive - but I figured that wouldn't work either since it is an actual hard drive. But why won't my flash drive work?
