I wanted to install this program onto to my father's computer so I figured I would serach downloads.com and download the one from that site onto his computer. Is this safest thing to do? Is it safest to downlaod stuff from downlaods.com rather than google. I mean to prevent getting virus trojan horses etc?

I thought I had downloaded it but couldnt find - ran a search and found it then it said -

the publisher couldn't be verified, are you sure you want to run this software. I said yes- ws I safe to do so?

Uhhh, that is just plain bad advice.

Download everything you can from the source. Many times there are imposter programs from windows that are actually viruses.

Download it from the official site every time if you can.
