vm ware processor speed issue

hello i recently installed vmware and i set it all to the default. now i have a duel core 2.0ghz. in vmware it says i have 800mhz and in cpuid it says i have 800mhz. how do i fix this

I would suspect it's some kind of powersaving feature. In this case, it's normal; the CPU will clock back up as soon as the extra juice is reuired. What CPU do you have?

Also, did you run CPU-Z in yout main OS or in the virtual machine? Some VMs give wrong CPU (and other hardware) info to the virtual systems they're running.
