ok guys, i want to use my iphone to access my computer, BUT, without out having to turn my computer on. What VNC program would allow me to do that? Plus i am on a different wifi network. I have tried Iteleport- but it uses the computer screen.
sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, i am new. :)

You can implement with LOM (lights out management). Also Vpro intel boards.
Another option is realvnc software if your motherboard supports Vpro. Can turn computer on remotely then turn off when done from another location. Another adventure.

An option that requires little to no setup is logmein.com. Most IT folks sneer at it but honestly it is a simple remote access option that would let you wake up your computer remotely and access what you need. Also, when you login to your computer it works similarly to using Remote Desktop. What I mean by this is that it takes over of creates a separate desktop session on the computer. In short it won't show what you're doing on the monitor at the computer itself.

For the record i was talking about turning the computer on and off when done.
not wake up. Just another learning curve. And adventure.

Yeah, the main reason I suggested logmein is just because its a little more simple to setup. Not because its best. I do believe it supports wake on LAN so technically you could completely power up and completely power down with it. Not sure of the free version supports wake on LAN tho.
