Hi all, I was wondering if you know of any program (Preferably free) that can edit .VOB files mostly just to cut out commercials out of the shows I record.

Thanks :)

why are your shows recorded in .vob format anyway? It seems fishy to me, it looks like you're copying DVDs.

Well, I'd never really heard of anything using .vob files other than DVD :D

You're right, it is from a DVD

I use DVD Author but it's not free... http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/index.html

as for editing, you can use something free called AutoGK, its a compilation of some freeware programs that automatically work together to create .avi files out of .vob. Get it here: http://www.autogk.me.uk/index.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=1

as far as I can tell, none of this is illegal... I think. Mods can delete it if it is.

Thanks for the link I'll start downloading it right now.:) And some of the newer Digital Camcorders record in .VOB.:D

Yeah I didn't think any of this would be illegal And if it is please delete it Mods.

EDIT: Thanks The_Other_One I'll take a look at that program, and that's pretty much the exact type of recorder I'm using.

Hehe, do you have a Panasonic too? That's a picture of my recorder. It's been a good one, much better than my original Lite-On :p

Nope, I've got a Sylvania. They had a sale on them here so we went there and they were out so we asked if we could have the display model so we got 10% off because it didn't have the box! :p
