Voice Recognition / Greeting software

Is there software available that will allow my PC acknowledge when I speak to it. For instance it greets me on power on with "hello sir, what would you like to do today" or something for along those lines. So I can say something like "open opera" and it will say "yes sir" and open opera. I know the windows voice recognition software lets you open programs but I was wondering if there is anything more complex with programmable responses and voice selection.

I figure it wouldnt be all too hard to program, or mod for that matter. But laziness aside I want something ready made.

Yeah. Kesava is right. You can use the Speech Recognition utility in Vista to control your computer.
Although, you cannot speak so directly, as there are specific commands.

i find its very useful cos you can dictate to the computer and it will write what your saying... the problem i had was that this feature only worked properly in word processors. if i wanted to say stuff and get it to write it in msn or something i had problems. but its pretty cool to use
