VPN - Home Comp. - Work Network

My company asks us to log into their network via a full tunnel VPN to work from home. Everything we do carries my work computer's IP address.

I am a paranoid that I styed connected to the company VPN by mistake and got personal traffic on the company network.

Is there any way I can check which network I was on (mine or theirs)?

Within the application itself, I have no way of checking.

By the way, I deleted my browsing history (though I now know it makes no difference to what the company can track).

Thank you very much.

Do you know if it is a split or full tunnel VPN?

You could ask the admin to see what kind of traffic they have for you lol.

Welp, then it likely would show up depending on what they use to report on WAN traffic.

When I worked at a large theatre chain's HQ they had a pretty verbose system for reporting WAN traffic back to local PCs.

There's no way for you to check other than being like 'oh crap the VPN was still active!' and knowing what all you browsed to.

I'm also surprised they explicitly allow your home PC to have the VPN client back to their network. Usually you're given a work type of PC.

That being said unless you work for some huge company that really gives a crap about it, most places I've seen don't even bother looking.

Thanks Beers. BTW, if anyone else knows any creative solutions, please let me know.

Also, would VPN get access to my browsing history from before i connected?

Nah, they'll just be seeing the traffic as it traverses their network (dns lookups, source/destination traffic flows, session data, etc). If it wasn't piped through the VPN beforehand then they wouldn't know about it.
