WAG160N and OpenWRT

Hello ,

I have a few questions about OpenWRT and Linksys router model WAG160N. I have decide to change software in my router to the one which is not vulnerable to WPS Pin as I don't have money for another router.

Now how do I check if my model is WAG160N or WAG160Nv2 on the box says it's WAG160N but how do I know that the hardware is not WAG160Nv2 ? Is there something on the back of the router which specify which version of the router I have ?

I have visited that page before asking on the forum and I have found that my Linksys model is supported but I don't which version I have.

Also I have a few question about OpenWRT itself as I never done something like that before.

1) OpenWRT is not vulnerable to WPS Pin right ?

2) Is it hard to install that software and also how long does it take to configure everything ? In this point I must say that I'm Tech-savy guy but I never done something like this before.

3) Which options I should turn off by default ? There are so many of them  and I don't think I will need all of them in Home network environment.

4) I heard that it's possible to block ads trough OpenWRT, how do I accomplish that ? Is it like ad-block whoever connects to the network will don't have adds at all ?

5) How to block different websites for each Ip in the network by not affecting the rest of the computers ?

6) Which other options I can find useful ? Something like that Ad-Blocker thing etc.

Thanks for the patience.
Any help is appreciated.

Generally, theres a sticker on the bottom that will tell you what hardware revision you have.

I'm not sure you have all that much to worry about on a pin attack. Just turn off WPS, and use WPA2 instead.

Yeah true tho but even if you turn it off it's unfortunately still vulnerable. The another reason why I want to use OpenWRT is that it have some good features which I would like to use.
