Wait for GTX 600 series?

I have a mate who's selling a GTX 460 768mb for AU$75 (great deal). He was kind enough to let me borrow it for a week and of course, after using a 9800 GT for 3 years now, it would make any newer card look awesome.

Of course, I'd love to buy it, but my only concern are the new Kepler (GTX600) GPU's being released this year. Would it be worth to go with a cheaper older-gen 460 (keeping in mind it's 768mb) or wait for a sub-$250 GTX 600 coming out this year? They also will feature the newer DX11.1, still worth it?

That is a pretty good deal, what res is your monitor? I had that same card and it did great for older games maxed out at 1080p but for newer games it had some trouble. But for $250 I can only imagine that there will be some great mid-range cards running on the 28nm platform. that will outrun that card. I myself and saving up for the next greatest Kepler card

My resolution is pretty small, 1440x900. Nowadays VRAM is a lot more than just resolution, for example, GTA4, Crysis 2 and BF3 require a 1GB+ RAM to get the most from the game, even on a resolution like mine.

The new desktop series keplar is going to be named 700 series.

But yeah i would suggest holding out for keplar. And if that fails go for HD 7000 series.

Or probably better still, wait for the ensuing shit storm of people selling gtx 580's for rock bottom on ebay in leui of keplar coming out.
