want to buy new laptop

Hi All,
I am planning to buy new laptop.
my usage is of using this for home purposes (checking emails, surfing internet, usage od word/excel, watching movies, playing games, upload some software testing tools (my wife is in software profession etc etc)..
Looking for good screen (big enough to enjoy movie).
Can some one guide me what spec and features should i look for and also let me know which make?

what games are you planning on playing? that will have a big difference on what to look for.

As for the rest, Brands to get, Toshiba, Sager, Asus, MSI, Lenovo*, HP**. Brands to avoid: HP***, Gateway, Acer, Dell, and all sub brands of these.

* Thinkpad. Their other stuff is crap.
** Probook.
*** everything not probook/eletebook.

Look for a HT dual core, or quad core processor, 4+ Gb of RAM, and probably 17.3" screen. We can narrow this down farther with a list of the games you plan on playing.
