Want to delid my Core i7-4790K

The title says it all. I want to delid my Core i7-4790K & replace NGTIM with Liquid Pro or Ultra.

Any tips to make the first time easier? Highly prefer razor blade method as vice method looks violent.

Anyone willing to put a broken Ivy Bridge in the post for me to practice with? Is there private message on here?

i delidded two 4770k processors and i destroyed one with overvoltage. the other is still in my htpc. replaced the burnt out 4770k with my 4790k ... which doesnt need delidding.

what type of temperatures are you running? the devil's canyon lineup was designed specifically so that you dont need to delid it essentially. honestly made a huge difference for my 4770k from like 90c down to around 70c but my 4790k @ 4.6ghz doesnt go over 74c (at least didnt with my junky h110, my custom water cooling keeps it under 65c).... unless you just have a golden chip that hits like 5ghz and needs the cooling. if it has bad thermal compound and overheats then you should simply return it for a new one
