want to hook comp to tv?

i just bought an hdtv and i wanted to hook it up using my svideo connection. I have a 6800gt oc video card and the cable is run to my tv but the picture still comes out on my monitor..... any help on how to get the picture on my tv....
 
With my Radeon card, I have to play with the settings in the Radeon control center, and enable both TV and monitor and enable theatre mode. Nvidia must have a similar feature.
 
One quick note, the s-video quality will me very low. I've done it and it hurts my eyes.
 
dont use the s-video connector, use the one that's called HD something. Go to desktop, right click, property, settings, advanced, display, change to TV. That's what i did with my old nvidia fx5500 card. I think it should be the same with your s too.
