Want to use my TV as a monitor

Hi all! I am looking to connect my PC (Dell Dimension 4700) to my TV. The card I'm looking at is:

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD4350 512 MB PCI-Express Video Card GV-R435OC-512I

My Current System info:
Processor: 2.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
16 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Not hyper-threaded

Board: Dell Inc. 0M3918
Bus Clock: 800 megahertz
BIOS: Dell Inc. A10 01/04/2006

Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family [Display adapter] (2x)

1528 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory

Slot 'CHANNEL A DIMM 0' has 256 MB
Slot 'CHANNEL B DIMM 0' has 1024 MB (serial number F6044CD1)
Slot 'CHANNEL A DIMM 1' has 256 MB
Slot 'CHANNEL B DIMM 1' is Empty

If I get this card for my dinosaur computer, will I be able to surf the internet, play PC games, etc. on my HDMI equipped rear projection HDTV? Just plug the card in, hook up an HDMI cable between the card/PC and TV, go to the proper input selection on the TV, and voila, I've got a gigantic monitor??

Or would you suggest something different?

Thanks so much for your help!

What kind of tv is it? If it's dlp, I think they have some bad input lag. You will want to set the input to game mode if it has it. Not sure about that pc accepting that card. Some of those old dells are pretty small cases.
