I am teaching Line Dance classes and would like to get a free Video Editor which enables you to capture individual frames to show the steps in stills.
Any suggestions? Please no trial versions, I do not need an expanded, fancy version.
Try VLC. It is not a editor, just a Media Player, but it has a capture feature. One of the buttons on the bottom lets you take a Snapshot. You can slow down the Video also to watch in slow motion.

Thanks! That are precisely the features I am looking for! I looked on the Web for some Editors, and there are quite a few free ones, but the ones I downloaded did not have the Snapshot feature I was looking for.
BTW I have the Pinnacle Studio Editor, and that has the Snapshot Feature, but it only accept formats that are not very popular. I mainly use their (hardware) A/V capture device to obtain the videos for it. However, my Line Dance videos come mostly from You Tube, (FLV Format) and the capture device does not work with that. I have not been able to figure out what exactly the format is that Pinnacle uses, because the ones that they publish (AVI, MPG) will not work after I used a Video Converter to get them.
