wanting to upgrade

If I upgrade from the cards I currently have now, do I just slap in the new ones and the drivers will autoinstall upon reboot and I'm good?

and if I Want to crossfire do I put on the crossfire bridge before I do the first reboot w/ the cards or do I wait for them to install drivers and begin working?

In other words, I have no idea what im doing and i need an explanation that someone dumb like, me can figure out.

Download new drivers but don't install them.
Download and install Display Driver Uninstaller http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,14.html.
Uninstall the old drivers first through Programs & Features.
Power off PC and remove cards.
Insert new card(s) (and crossfire/sli bridges).
Power on PC and boot into safe mode
Completely wipe old drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller.
Reboot into normal mode and install new display drivers.
Reboot for final time.

Umm... nope.

I am NOT about to screw up drivers on my computer. I have re-imaged this thing enough times now, I don't need to totally wreck it.

If I should buy new cards and have a PRO install them, what would be a decent upgrade and WON'T kill my power supply or overload my crap?

Please. You're being ridiculously stubborn. You can do this on your own.

What size PSU do you have again?

That doesn't tell me what power supply you have.......

PSU = Power Supply Unit

Its very simple, jusr follow the steps and you will be fine. Uninstalling drivers is very easy

Either a gtx 760, ir a r9 270x

not willing to go over $300.
Don't crossfire multiple cards in this price range, just get one single card, you will be much better off and you can add a second down the road.

If you are nervous about Travis' instructions, I would download the new drivers, uninstall the old AMD software from the programs/features menu, then go to device manager and uninstall the drivers, shutdown, install the new cards, and install the new drivers. There is no need to go to a "pro" who will likely just swap the cards and install the new software along the old software.
