WAP vs booster vs upgrade G->N router?

Hi guys
Our wireless router is currently in the "middle" of our house. I'd like to boost the signal from there to my room w/ 2 computers. Currently I get about 3 bars and about 36Mbps on my laptop (G internal) and about 18-24 on my desktop (N wireless usb adapter).
There are also 2 other laptops in the house, both G internals.
Is it better to set up a WAP in between the router and my room?
Is it better to put a booster there?
Or should I just upgrade the router to N? It seems costly because I would have to get wireless N adapters for the other laptops, too, won't I, to take advantage of the wireless N router?

this is the way it is. Routers \ boosters...They all only put out about a 1/5 to a 1/3 of a watt. Not much. You need to get a 1watt booster or run cat5 cable which some electrical contrators can run for you.
