Ok, so over the past 5 years or so my best friend and I have been at odds over our gaming. He has always been a console player and I have always used PC's. My current setup drags really bad now and he is loving his xbox 360. He is running it in HD into a 37" polaroid LCD and I will admit that it looks pretty nice. Well, I'm sick of him blasting PC's. I have decided to put off my build located here ( My Build to be this winter ) and wait for quadcore and dx10 in sli to come out. Unless of course you think this current build can take on an xbox 360. If anything I will have a better monitor cosidering my 37" Lg LCD can run in 1080p versus his polaroid which is only at 1080i.
The other thing that pisses me off is that it seems console games have now truely taken the mainstream away. Gaming companies don't advertise for pc games anymore. It seems like the developers are really just going after the consoles and leaving pc gamers behind. Even if our hardware is better than console games, if we don't have the software titles to take advantage of it, what is the point?
Thanks.
EDIT: Xbox 360 stats according to GameSpy.com. CPU = 3 symmetrical cores running at 3.2 GHz each, 1 MB L2 cache, 2 hardware threads per core; 6 hardware threads total. GPU = custom ATI at 500 MHz. Memory = 512 MB GDDR3 RAM (possibly for the GPU?), 700 MHz DDR
