BGA.SERVICES HP COMPAQ CQ42 CQ62 G42 G62 GPU MOTHERBOARD REPAIR.

Just before Christmas I was given a faulty laptop computer belonging to a friend of mine with special needs. Apparently there was a graphics chip issue with this model. I looked up Ebay for a replacement board and came across BGA.Services. This guy assured me that graphics chip could be re balled (repaired) for £29. I had the laptop it stripped down and sent over the board along with components, CPU and cooling fan etc so it could be bench tested.

The board returned two weeks later repaired, had it fitted. a few weeks later I sent over a second board from a similar machine. Meanwhile after a month the first board failed completely.

This individual had boasted of a two months guarantee on repairs, he has now both motherboards belonging to me, I requested them back so I can salvage the components from them. He refuses to cooperate or correspond with me and still has my property.

Two months later after exhaustive emails, with no correspondence I am stuck with two worthless laptops minus their main board with components plus £30 out of pocket and extra postage for this shoddy service.

Yeah those laptops are shit. You can fix them once, but they don't last.

Irrespective of it being a sh***t low budget model that guy shouldn't have taken on the job if he was incompetent of dealing the problem. Could you imagine if this guy had an I5 or I7 board along with its components belonging from me from something relatively fresh.

This guy claims to do a huge range

A new replacement board would be the solution and would have given it a new lease of life for several years without all this unnecessary grief. The machine was good enough for the child that needed it.

I seriously regret not going the new MB option after dealing with this idiot and wasting time and well over £50 between returned postage and everything else and on top of that I have source all the extra bits and pieces which this fool has belonging to me.

I have a Dell 9400 that has gone through its third MB over 9 years, (the 1st one had a pint of beer spilt over it in a pub when it was just two years old) the only reason its abandoned now is its tied to XP and its a dynasore to haul about.

I will keep you all posted in how this guy is going to handle the situation, if he plays game by refunding me of £29.99 and returning me my property I will mention it here and close the case.. If not he will not hear the end of me here and on other forums.

I will be posting copies of correspondence to this guy on my own site which will soon be published.
