Watching films video

Hi all
I watched a film erlier and i put a program called fraps on (most of you probably now what program it is and what it does) it only said it was doing 25 fps and the video was a bit jerky-rough, is this to do with the graphics card and if so how can i get it going smooth

by the way my graphics card is a 9600 GT
 
Something that helps mine is to set the FPS to like 30 so it doesn't go above that and youit usually doesn't go below that so it's not going from 47 FPS to 30 which is causing it to be choppy (at least for me)
 
That's not ignorant :) Just go to the taskbar on bottom of screen it's usually at the right it's a little monitor with the numbers 99 in the top left, right click and go to settings, go to movies tab and you can edit things there
