Alright guys im looking at maybe trying some WC out, can some of you help me find the cheapest part by part setup.

Right now im only looking at doing the processor, once i get a new gpu ill add that to the mix.

So basically im looking for the cheapest stuff Cpu block and so on just for my first experience once i get my new comp built ill grab better stuff.

My motherboard

Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H

and the cpu in my sig

Sorry im not of much help for your topic,But you should throw Funkysnair a PM...he knows his stuff when it comes to WC :)

Ek Supreme(no it's not the cheapest, but it is universal)
D5(decide if you want the speed controller, or the one with the tach)
Reservoir(again not the cheapest, but reusable, it'll also be in stock soon)
Radiator(if you have the room, get the 120.3, but the 120.2 will work as well)
Killcoil(reusable, and stops algae from growing)
Bitspower fatboys(cheap good barbs, but you still need clamps)
Tubing size, clamps, and fans are up to you.

yea 95 dollars the cpu block although its nice im looking at one i found for 40 its not the best but like i said this is gunna be a cheap setup, to familiarize myself with everything.

Res im looking for something that goes in the 5 1/4 drive bay

Or just go the smarter way and get a ddc plus a res top, makes filling the loop infinately easier:

In real world applications a ddc+top will outperform a d5 pretty well, first there is less heat dump and second the d5 only really shines with low restriction, where even a simple rad is enough restriction to lower the flow signicantly for a d5.

If you are only going with a double, this would be a better performer than the EK rads:

Killcoils are a waste, all it is is a silver strip(besides, putting the killcoils in the tubing can cause turbulence that reduces flow and increases temps, better just to throw a loose coil into the res top):

Or you could just go with all silver plated barbs:

Have you put the kill coil in the tubing and had your flow be reduced and your temps increase?

I experienced strange issues with the coil in my tubing, which is why i looked into it awhile back, temps dropped around 3c after removing the coil and placing it into the res(was causing a vortex at the inlet barb of my waterblock).

Not to mention, that coil is barely a 5" piece of silver, you can wrap a piece of silver from john around a pen to do the same thing.

But was it with a kill coil?
