Water cooling

Do not buy that, it's garbage. For a real liquid cooling system you should be prepared to spend $200-$300 or so. You need the waterblock(s), pump, radiator, reservoir, and tubing/clamps. Also, don't go to Newegg for those parts, I use frozencpu.com

OK, so I am looking at water cooling, and decided to get some more info. First, what is the general cost? I know I found

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...011&cm_re=watercooling-_-35-233-011-_-Product

for just under $50, but is that any good? Also how does this usually work, where is the stuff mounted, etc. And how much coolant/water do you have to buy per year?

Thanks!

That isnt liquid cooling, that cooler is generally rubbish anyhow. Even a self contained unit like an asetek or corsair system is better than that(but i dont personally recommend self contained units). That cooler there is basically a heatsink with liquid running through it instead of using heatpipes.

Jab-tech, performance-pcs, and sidewindercomputers are good.
+1 on Jab-tech, I actually order most of my stuff through them since it's cheaper, however Frozencpu.com generally has more products, reviews, more detailed description, and better images. Look for items on frozencpu.com, but buy from Jab-tech.com :)

Jab-tech and sidewinders are where i prefer to purchase as well, although i have used coolerguys, petras, frozencpu, and performance pc's as well and i recommend them as well(just watch out on ppc's shipping, its pretty god awful slow every time i order from them).

My CPU loop ran me $350.00 USD. You can go cheaper if you dont use all the nice stuff. The system will work the same but just may not look as cool.

Danger Den res. (One of the places you can cut cost.)
All Koolance compression fittings. (one of the places you can cut cost.)
1/2" ID tubing. (Again another place to cut cost)
Koolance CPU block.
Koolance pump. (Another place to cut cost but be careful.)
Koolance 280mm rad. (Another place to cut cost.)
Xigmatek fans.
Distilled water.

I am going to add a Kolance GPU block soon. (maybe two) and another pump as well as a res and smaller rad. It doesnt have to be expensive if you do it right though. Think outside the box anddont be lazy like me and just buy it all ofline from a company that sells it for watercooling. Think car heatercores and fishtank pumps. And any hose ad hose barbs with zipties will do.
