Hi, i have just purchased a cheap water cooler (link below) but it doesnt seem to fit my cpu socket even though it says it does, i have been in touch with corsair and they assure me the 1150 socket which i have, is the same as the 1155/1156 socket and the fitting instructions are the same, and they say it will fit, however i cannot get the backing plate or the top plate to match up with the holes, is it possible for corsair to have made a mistake with this?




Also can someone send me a like to a programme or site where i can benchmark my pc?

It should be a simple bolt on. Don't have any personal experience with any all in one water cooler, yet, so I cannot confirm it will work other than that it should work.

I use Furmark for benching and stressing my GPU, its more for stressing though. I also use several games which I own to test the system, Mafia II, Tomb Raider. Many games these days have some internal benchmarking method to test your settings before playing the game. Oh, about forgot GTA IV even has it's own benchmarking.

I had issues with my hyper 212 mounting up, I know it's working properly. But I don't like the way its seated on the CPU, doesn't feel right to me. Makes me want to get something else. :(
 
It looks like a lot of people are having trouble with mounting the H55 with the 1150 socket. I would contact Corsair to see what they have as options for you. They usually have good support.
 
every watercooler i've seen has a bracket that goes under the mobo, you have to remove the mobo from case and install the back bracket, i'm currently using a asus mobo with a homemade cryo cooler (reservoir is in a small deep frezzer) from corsair.

According to the reference below there should be 75 mm between each hole.

Cooling systems for LGA 1155 and LGA 1156 sockets are compatible with LGA 1150, due to them having the same distance of 75 mm between each screw hole.

BTW, I don't have the Corsair H55 but I do have the Corsair H60. These low cost water coolers are not high performance like some but for PCs using stock settings they are great.
