Ok, so I got a new (used, but new for me :P) rig off of ebay :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110360258147

And it came with a water-cooling kit installed and so I have some questions before startin it up ;)

1. the resivoir was mostly empty (only about 3/4 of an inch full of coolant) He sent me what was left of the coolent in the bottle (only about 1/4 of it was used) so I need to know how much I need to put in the resivoir)

2. I noticed the resivoir leaked a tiny bit, doesnt look like it got on any of the parts though, so what do i do about that? do you think there is a leak in the hose or just a bit got out from bein tossed around by a bunch of UPS dummies? :P

3. tell me anything and everything I need to do before turning the computer on, because I dont know SQUAT about water cooling :P:o

Thanks in advanced for any help, let me know if you have any questions that need answering to help me :P

send the guy an email asking if he drained the system before he shipped it, after that drain the whole thing, thats one place to start(pull the tube outside of the case, on the radiator, i would also want to replace the block(on the cpu) with something different for better temps, these are my reccomendations: heatkiller(german engineering, also sexah), aqua computer double impact cuplex(also german, gives decent temps as well), swiftech gtz(cheaper, but not as great temperatures). another/different rad would also be worth it(if your up for some modding) your best temps would come from a feser radiator(you could mount it to the top, or on the side in place of the 240mm rad) or, a cheaper black ice rad(i really would suggest modding these so they go on top of your case :P). on the next thing, i would suggest new tubing, and a pump top(so you can use different sized fittings) maybe even some bling bling :P. as for coolent, you won't get stuff inside you blocks(dyes) if you just use distilled water and pt nuke(stops stuff from growing in the loop). you might want to treat yourself to some blingy compression fittings(no need for clamps) at the least, i would get some new fatboy barbs and a new reservoir(you said the other one leaked, so i wouldn't trust it). if you want to make your rig look like flava flave smiling back at you, get some gold compressions.
p.s. damn, thats a lot of stickers lol

Oh wow, Perhaps I should have looked into this before buyin it, didnt realize I would need to spend so much afterwards :P :o.

I was thinking of just ditching the WC and getting a Zalman 9700NT for the CPU an try to get a new HS fan or somthin for the 8800GTX. Im starting to think this will be the smarter route :P

P.S. yeah the stickers were overboard so I took all of them off already except the newegg above the RAD and inside the case (because they are a pain to take off, i'll try again later) and the big NVidia sticker on the side window (not sure if im gunna ditch that one or not yet).. :P

i'm not saying dump the wc lol, the only thing you REALLY need to upgrade is the reservoir, tubing, and fittings, then pump top, then rad, then wc block on cpu, in that order(the first three are the only real upkeep that needs to be done now, along with a fluid change)

i suppose you could get away without replacing anything for a while, just make sure that nothing leaks, just be sure to flush the loop out a couple times with distilled water
