wats up guys!

Today, i was prompted to restart my pc because of an update, but on the restart the screen stays blank and the pc beeps at me!

Beeeeeeeeeeeep beep beep!! lol

ive got an Asus A8N Sli Premium if that helps anyone.

im guessing something has been changed in the mobo settings like the hard drive or RAM configurations. i cant exactly try anything because the screen stays blank when i turn the pc on, and it just beeps at me.

ive tried removing hardware and unplugging certain things and ive inserted the mobo disc and the vista disc in hope that it may give me some sign of life, but nothing has worked. does anyone know how i can fix this?

thanks in advanced!

it may be the RAM, i will have to go and check.

my video card is relatively new, its a 8800 but i dont think it was that.

the processor hasnt budged since its been in there and i havnt moved my computer around so i dont think its that either.

EDIT*** checked all of the things u sed but none of them worked lol

I doubt a CMOS battery would cause that. It would just keep on saying: Cmos failure, defaults loaded. How did you test your Video card?

well i checked to see if it was seated properly or if any components were damaged but i cudnt see anything.

ive been lookin up the beep codes but cant find mine

its one long beep and two short ones

do u reckon i sud unplug every 'plug and play' hardware, and then clear my CMOS

ok thanks guys, so its a video card problem, the 8800 is quite cumbersome and huge to fit on the mobo, maybe its slightly out of place.

i will get back to on that, thanks.

EDIT** ive push the card in as suceurly as i could, i even took the other side of the case off to help me hold it on there tightly, it just doesnt wanna start. lol

i wanna try clearing my CMOS, but ive never had to do it before so i dnt kno how to, so how do u do it?
