ok. I recently decided I need a faster HDD. Well I am going to with the raptor. And I had a friend put one of his raptors in and install XP and run pcmark and he got a 7,100 hard drive score. Then I had him RAID0 both of his and he ran a 9,554!! WOW. (compared to my 5K right now) I am definatly going with raid0. I could have gotten one 80GB for the same price as two 36GB raptors. and honestly that is big enuff for what i do. I will just be using this for running windows and my games. Right now I am using 40 gigs with ALL my games installed and all my programs installed. I keep all my installers on a 500GB backup drive for when i feformat. I also keep all my games and music and movies on a backup drive.

So heres my question. I am looking for 2 36GB raptors.

Is there a diffrence between the WD360 VS WD360ADFD? they are the same price about from what I can see. Is one older?. Slower?

Thanks

ohh. ok.. Well Since I am doing RAID0 do you think there would be any diffrence between the 8MB vs 16MB cache?.. Wont 2 older (made in 2005) raptors in Raid0 max out the bandwidth of my sata controler?

Or should I get the newer ones right away.

Is there a phisical diffrence?

They will not max out the bandwidth. Not even close. Remember, even though the drives are RAIDed they are not on the same cable for SATA so each one still has lots of bandwidth.

I would argue there's minimal difference in performance between the 2. But the older ones may cost more if supply is getting low.
