web browser consuming too much RAM

I've noticed a problem recently. Regardless of the web browser i use (tryed Chrome, Iron, Firefox, Opera, IE), i'm getting too much RAM consumption.

It happens when i open more than 3 or 4 tabs. The computer slow down to death, with the mouse arrow freezing and sometimes the screen even blanks white for a few seconds.

When i close it up and back to only 3 or 4 tabs, problem is gone.

Any thoughts?

I'm running a Core 2 Duo with 4 gb of RAM and SSD.

Cheers

I'm using the task manager to confirm. Tabs can reach up to almost 200 mb each. Opera, for example, use only one process for all tabs. So ram usage can reach more than 500 mb.

It's annoying.

What is the total amount of RAM free/available when this is happening?
What is the total amount of RAM being used by the browser.

Here is a print of the task manager. Only Iron running with ONE tab (Gmail opened):

At this point is ok. After openning more than 4 or 5 tabs, the slowness begin.

Now, with 3 tabs (Gmail, forum and Flickr). Look how many processes for miresable 3 tabs:

Had to open Photoshop. Look again now memory ranked by consumption. One Iron tab is consuming more than the bloody image processing software (often blammed for slowness):

Thanks for looking.

Uninstall the iron browser to see if the issue persists. It seems this browser is causing the issue.

Hi, i never heard of iron but will have to look in to it,i use firefox portable(don't like to install if i don't have to) with an addon called memory fox,my other half will have 15 or more tabs open and fox peeks at 100mb then quickly back down to 10 to 12mb the addon worked for me maybe it will for you?
