I am relatively new to HTML and I want to start building my own home pages, so I was wondering what programs would be good to get started? Are there free programs or am I better off getting something like dreamweaver? Any help would be great.

flash is for creating flash applications/movies/animations or whatever, not websites.
But a combination between Flash and Dreamweaver could work for creating an animated website.

Look for Adobe Web Premium CS3 package which contains both these two applications and more that will help for web design.

Also take a look on www.totaltraining.com because they have lots of training for programming, web design, photo design and video design.
 
Microsoft Frontpage
Adobe / Macromedia Dreaweaver - I use for my website (stuff in sig :P)
Also as said above, in the CS3 package - is the adobe Web premium

i use the notped windows,
although i like to build my web´s into frontpage
 
Thanks so much for all the replies guys. I have done a fair bit of study on HMTL and it seems pretty straight forward and I have made a few pretty good designs so far. However I can see that if you really want to make a good web page you need to know about CSS, flash and javascript.
