i havent done much technical stuf on computers since high school. can anyone tell me how to completely erase web history and visited sites on my computer?

There are a few ways you can remove internet history from your computer. Just go to
Tools >> Internet options >> Delete history
OR
You can download cCleaner from www.download.com and remove the history using that program. This will automatically remove all history.
