I got a webcam for my laptop and it didn't come with any drivers, but XP still lets me use it. Try googling the make model of you webcam for drivers. See if there are any on the manufactuers website, or see if you can just get some handling software to let you use it.

Your best bet is to look for a manufacturers website. If you can't find it, driverguide is a good place to look(user - drivers, password - all)
