Webcam / Sound Help Needed Pls

Hi all,

I've recently installed a "DSE Internet Camera w/ Microphone" to my pc, but I can't seem to get the microphone working.
I'm incredibly clueless when it comes to computers, but I've had a look and can't seem to figure out why the mic won't work.
Help please!!

have you tried unmuting it? (double click next to the clock on the pic of the speaker)
is the microphone jack plugged into the right hole? (usually pink)

The microphone is built in to the side of the webcam, there's just the one usb lead.
And yip, everything's unmuted. It seems as though everything is as it should be, but still no sound.. (though as I said, I'm pretty clueless..)
