Hey guys, I might be able to build a computer for serving a website. Ofcourse this is gonna be a dirt cheap build, <$200, less the better. Any suggestions?
 
well, you already have a computer??
and... for less than $200, you can't build a computer, its ganna be hard...
cuz you need monitor and that crap,
i suggest go to dell website, and buy the cheapest computer there for like $300 (comes with a monitor, ,,,)
 
you can build a computer for about 160-170 but its so crappy its not really worth having. Just use pricewatch.com. theres a mobo with integrated cpu and video, 128mb ram, 80 gig hdd, cd drive, and a case w/ power supply.
 
I think you might wanna mention which OS are you gonna use to do your magic and also it would be helpful to just give a brief description of your site(s). In this way we can better give you advice on the type of processing power and memory (RAM) you might need to get it of the ground and running smoothly. You may wanna up your ram to @ least 512. Its cheap nowadays.

Ok, here’s an example; suppose you just wanna host a site that will allow you to share photos and video clips with your folks aboard and whoever you may wish, again depending on the amount of pictures, videos etc. and the amount of users accessing your site at a given time, you should have enough processing power to serve all of them flawlessly.
 
It's a site that has no videos, some pictures but not that many, mainly text and probably not many ppl accessing.
