Website design w/ Photoshop/Imageready

Im new at web design. I'm creating my website with photoshop. Is thier a way to use a text layer as a link? I know how to create a link with an image (at least, I know how *I* do it, I'm sure I'm doing it the long way) but I don't want to lose the text properties by making them an image. tia.

i have dreamweaver, but i have no clue how to use it. how would i transfer the file from photoshop to dreamweaver w/o losing the layers? I want the text from photoshop to remain text in dreamweaver.
