Website size and resolutions?

What do you guys feel is the best resolution and or size for a webpage these days? More and more people are getting better monitors so 800X600 pixels is slowly becoming outdated. If Im starting a new webpage, what is my best option for resolution size?

1024*768 seems to be the general size for websites these days; however dynamically expanding websites seem to be the way to go, so the page expands to fit the screen rather like this site.
