Weird computer problem!

Hi,
This morning I went to start my computer to reinstall xp. But when I pressed the power button, the computer came on as normal, I can hear the Hard Drive and the fans working fine, but the monitor, keyboard and im sure also the mouse wasnt working. The computer is a acer aspire desktop. I find its weird timing that it happened as I turned it on to go reinstall xp. The PC is 1 or 2 years old so I cant see y it would be the motherboard.

1. Unplug power cord. 2.open your computer case 3. take out the RAM dimms. 4. wait about 2 minutes. 5. plugin the RAM dimms. Close the case plug in power and start the pc. If this doesen't work check Video board. If it still doesen't work try with another video board/ram. If it stiil not working ur Mainboard coud be busted.

I have removed the ram and waited 2mins and put it back in and had the same problem. The video card is on/with the motherboard. But I don't think it is the video card because the mouse and keyboard would/should work.
