Weird computer problem

I ran a virus scanner and a spyware scanner, everything is clean.

This started a day or two ago but it only happened a few times, so :

I was browsing some forum and all of a sudden I couldn't use my mouse or keyboard. Nothing was moving on the screen. I thought maybe something was wrong with the keyboard/mouse (it's wireless), but it seemed ok. I turned the monitor on and off and nothing moved still. I restarted and everything was fine.

Then I was playing a game and the same thing happened. It was just a frozen picture and I could do nothing until I restarted, when it went away.

What's the problem?
 
Go to control panel>Administative Tools>Event Viewer, and look for the red X's in the system log about the same time stamp of when the freeze happened. Tell us what they say..
 
In where, application?

It has no errors for a bunch of days that this happened, and other ones are stuff like Opera hanging (and then quitting).

I tried an error check so we'll see if it happens again
 
computers freeze up now and then, when was the last time you reformatted your hd? And also check to see how hot your cpu is.
 
ok it happened again and its definitely not overheat. I have a lot of fans and the temperature thing on the case was like 83 when it happened.

it also happens when im just browsing and it can not happen even if im playing a new cpu intensive game like bf2
