Weird Hard Drive Problem

I have been running Ubuntu Linux for a while. I thought I would give Suse Linux another shot. I have 2 Hard Drives. A Maxtor 20 GB, which holds Windows. And a Fireball 20 GB, Which holds Linux. I was reading in forums in order to install Suse Linux you need the move the Hard Drives around, so Windows is the Master and Suse is the slave. I moved the Hard Drives around. I turned on my computer and made sure it was seen by BIOS. Only the Master(Maxtor) was seen in BIOS. So, I looked at the Slave Hard Drive(Fireball) and saw that one of the pins was shorter than the others. I switched it around to the way it was before. Maxtor being the Slave and Fireball being the Master. Now, It recognized the Fireball, but not the Maxtor. So, it isn't the pins. But now, It only sees one drive. What is the Problem?

OK. I will try. Now I have to reinstall Windows:mad: That is not that big of deal though. Luckily, I have a backup computer for now. But I can still run Ubuntu. Which is good. I will try playing with the BIOS settings. I will keep you posted.

I played with it a little more. No Luck! I went into BIOS and set it to auto. But it still only sees one or the other. I'm guessing it is the drive. I will bring it into my friend and see if he can't repair it.
