Weird little Vista problem!

Hey Everyone!
I am having a little bit of a Vista problem. Whenever i delete a file on my computer or uninstall a program, the shortcut icon on the desktop stays on my desktop screen and cannot be deleted. When i do try and delete it says that the file cannot be found and allows me to click again. I know one solution which is install the game again and delete the desktop icon before i uninstall everything, but these are large files, there must be an eaier way.

very funny man, the same thing happened to me this mornin. I solved it the same way you did, by just re-installing and then deleting properly...sucks man, hopefully someone has a solution
 
Reboot into safe mode and delete the icon from your desktop.

Occasionally, I have this same problem.. but with programs that were un-installed that left fragments behind =)
