It's almost like my ram is faulty, but I don't think that's what the problem is?

If I am browsing the internet and I open Limewire, my computer starts to run like a snail. It's almost like when I multi-task, it slows down quite badly. I can not find the root of the problem. It never did this before and it just randomly started out of nowhere. Here's my specs:

-Core 2 Duo [email protected]
-2 gigs of ram
-Geforce 7950GT
-Windows XP Home Edition

run some stress testing programs, i know some pcmark programs are good for cpu and gpu, but i dont know what program you could use for testing the ram, best get some more opinions before taking mine, though

try pressing ctrl alt del and see what is using the most of your cpu/memory what ever it is make shure its not important (just google it to find out what it is) then kill it

There isn't anything drastically taking up my memory. This is where I am confused. At the top of my list for most usage, it's Firefox. But even then, it's not very much.

Have you used any anti-virus or anti-spyware programs to scan your system recently? When is the last time you blew the dust out of your computer with compressed air?

Edit: Also, do you have a program that monitors the temperature of your system like "Core Temp"?
