Weird Problem

Hey guys,

I tried installing windows on a computer i built, and the setup would load all of the initial files/drivers, but when it was time to "start windows setup" the computer just sits there. The CD rom spools down and it will sit there all night.

What do you guys think?
 
I had similar problems once. I think my particular problem was with the harddrive being on the wrong setting. It was a western digital. As you might know, there's a setting for master with and without a slave drive, and it does make a big difference(IE something like your problem)
 
well, i've tried it with 3 different drives. 2 of them bein WD, one is a hitachi Sata, i tried them all individually. I am thinking it's the MOBO, i oc'd my 64bit 3000+ venice to about 2.1ghz on the stock PSU. i thought i had just killed the PSU. Bought a new 500W PSU and now it all boots fine, just won't get past the initial driver load.
