Weird start up problem

My hp laptop recently got restored and hasn't worked for a while so today I decided to turn it on and see if it would work and it did, but now it's stuck on diagnosing and auto fixing, it keeps going back and forth between these two screens:

It looks like you have a cracked screen for one. If it keeps going through the repair I would say you have a failing hard drive.
 
That's actually a broken monitor that I hooked my laptop up to becasue my laptop screen went black a while ago
 
Like I said, could be failing hard drive or corrupt OS. You can try doing a diagnostic on the hard drive.
 
Partition I'm pretty sure it was a while ago

Partition recovery is when the computer restores without CDs right?

Yes. But some partition recoveries don't work. I've came across it a few times. I've actually had to use recovery cd's for it to work right. Can you get into advanced recovery options and do an sfc /scannow at a dos prompt?
