Weird Story, well i think so

So before i go 2 sleep i close all the programs, and put my computer on standby.
so i went to sleep and about 5 hours later, i hear something loud. so i look up and my computer is running. the monitor is at the windows log in screen.

but not only did it boot itself, it was playing one of those video trailers that always play at the top of the aim buddy list(i recognized the sound). but the funny thing is, that i closed aim and signed off. and those videos only play when ur signed on.

since it was on the windows log in screen i culdnt see the video but i knew the sound, but my keyboard sound control didnt work so i had to find my speakers turn it off and shut the computer off.

is it just me or is that weird?
 
Is AIM programmed to start up and log in when you turn the computer on? And is there a password on the log on screen?
 
it was the boogie-man. he got lonely in your closet and wanted to chat online with his other boogie-buddies, you ruined it for him!

seriously though, that is pretty weird. something must have triggered ur PC to run AIM. only explanation i can thnk of, is what geoff said, the auto-run command when you log-in.

yea while thinking about it 2day durning my free period, i realized that. but it didnt have a full start up. it was in standby and then came out of standby, im not sure but it doesnt auto sign on when coming out of standby. and even if it did then how did it turn on.
 
well, there are WAKE-UP events in my BIOS, where you program ina time for the PC to startup, if your BIOS isnt password protected then perhaps a mate or someone else programmed it to startup at like 3 in the morning, also, you can program it to come on on certain days only, so they could have done it ages ago....??

AIM could have started automatcillay, and then that log in screen could be the "swetch user" thing so you coudla ctully be logged in.
 
He doesn't sleepwalk, he sleepgames. He suddenly starts playing games and do stuff on the computer. Just like I sleepcurse/sleepswear, I've been known to say some not so nice things in my sleep, like the Finnish swear word "vittu" which is the same as f**k.
