well, it seems that I have program files that shouldnt be there.....and I have programs in the add or remove programs list that dont exist. My computer is getting to the point where its slowing down a bit. So what should I do?? Shoudl i reformat the hdd, and do a complete system restore to its original state??? I need help guys.
 
You don't really want to do a reformat, cos you'll have to reinstall absolutely everything.

Download WinASO from here. I've only used the Registry Optimizer, so get that. It's a trial, but it's not a 30-day trial, you just can only fix 10 problems with every scan. So... just scan repeatedly.

When you've finished with that, check your start-up list in msconfig, run spyware and virus scans (these 2 whilst disconnected from internet). All this should do a pretty damn good job.
