Western Digital HD 1TB Caviar Green

This is an existing HD on a Hewlett Packard PC that has developed an unreadable segment. This is probably the cause of it not booting up in Windows 7, it gets to the point where the screen displays "Windows is starting", and no further. This fault ocurred when I was trying to clear the Ukash virus by booting from a stick.

I want to replace this HD but the existing unit does not appear to be available, the other details are Model - WD10EACS - 65D6B0, DCMHARNHT, LBA. Can anyone advise a suitable Western Digital replacement for this unit, or advise a contact for Western Digital?

Have you tried downloading Western Digital's drive diagnostic program on another computer and hook that drive up and scan it for errors? It may be fixable.

Any Sata hard drive will work. If wanting to stay around the 1tb size then get this.
