what 2 do? winXp in acer 5534

Hi all

I just bought acer 5534-1096 from ebay with corrupted windows 7 but i want to install WIN XP. this lap has 64bit cpu, 4gig ram, 250 gb so do i have to install 64bit ver windows xp or just normal xp will be fine? plz guide.

Do not get the 64 bit version of XP as it has driver problems. You can use the 32bit version of xp just fine. XP hardly uses more than 2 gb of ram anyways.
 
The driver problems has no issues in the Windows XP Pro x64bit anymore. But they do have some software issues still, because of the software companies had jump over it to Vista. If you are going to buy a OS, get the Windows 7 64bit. Professional or Ultimate. If you do use the xp pro x64, you will need to take out 2gig of memory to load it, then put it back in. Vista also had that same problem in the x64 OS too. If you notice in my profile signature, I run Windows XP pro x64. And been doing so for 2.5 years now. And no problems, very stable OS.
