Have a Gateway Desktop computer and was running windows 7 with no problems. Decided to upgrade to 10 and went though the steps and finally downloaded it. On booting up my name comes up on new MS screen then flashes to my old desktop page and my old icons flash on and off. Screen goes black then back to original screen then icons flash on for about seconds then back to black screen. This keeps on doing this over and over. The little blue circle is turning on the screen/ I have my mouse arrow and can move it but can't click on anything. So, i can't do anything. I do have recovery disks which i made but computer won't read them. Also I do not want to lose photos, saved messages etc. if I reformat machine. Any help out there?
 
Lots of issues when upgrading to windows 10. I would back up your data and do a recovery using recovery disks. Then upgrade to 10 then install all your programs and data.
