What all do i need?

Hello everybody....

I'm thinking to buy a dvd burner in coming days ....but i've no idea about all these stuff. So could anybody plz suggest me about what all i would need to have (apart from the dvd burner) to be able to burn dvd's. Also what's the cheapest solution available?? Can we burn dvd's without a dvd burner just with some software with the help of cd drive of PC?

combo of DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, doesn't get cheaper than that (both are free!!)

No. You need a dvd burner to burn dvds. A good inexpensive dvd burner is the NEC 3520 for $52

You do not need DVD Decrypter shrink would do everything but I would get NERO also

I too am looking for a good DVD burner and saw Prae's opinion on the LiteOn burners in this thread and was wondering why would LiteOn burners not be a good choice? I love their CD/DVD drives and have only bought those, if not LiteOn for a DVD burner than what would be a better choice?

The NEC 3520 is a good dvd burner at a good price. I have the model below it the NEC 3500 and it performs great in dvd burning. The 3520 suppose to be even better then mine.

Shrink will NOT do everything. It will not burn by itself.

It will auto burn using CopyToDVD, DVD Decrypter or Nero.

I have the model below it the NEC 3500 and it performs great in dvd burning. The 3520 suppose to be even better then mine.

Yeah too bad they made a chipset change from 3500 to 3520 so you cant flash the firmware
