what anti virus would you say to get?

hey guys, currently on my laptop i am running ccleaner only and i know that i need an anti-virus or i am asking for trouble, but i dont want to go out and spend money on it if i dont have to, are there any good ones that are free? if so what are they, if not what is worth paying for?

Kaspersky is the best one for me but the problem is it's not free.
